Southern Voice to host sessions at first-ever UN World Data Forum 2017

The Southern Voice network is organising two sessions at the first-of-its-kind UN World Data Forum 2017 in Cape Town on 15-18 January 2017. The sessions will feature eminent data and development experts from the network and beyond, who will unpack the initial country-experiences on data challenges for SDG implementation and share lessons learnt as well as identify modalities for strengthening the role of think tanks as potential source of innovative and policy-relevant evidence.

 

Unpacking the Data Revolution at the Country Level: Lessons for National Data Strategies

The session will focus on recent national experiences addressing data challenges in the context of integrating SDGs in the national plans, and designing monitoring mechanisms. Concretely, the presentations will review availability, accessibility, quality, relevance and coherence of data at the country level.

Making Best Use of Data from Research Organisations and Think Tanks in the Global South
