Precious Chukwuemelie Akanonu, CSEA – Nigeria
Precious is Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of Economies of Africa (CSEA), Nigeria. She holds an MSc in International Economics and Finance from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), and a BA in Economics from the American University of Nigeria. Her change project is a country-level study in Nigeria, aimed at designing an effective carbon pricing system that discourages air pollution, encourages the gradual uptake of climate-friendly technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry, and supports public investment in climate–friendly infrastructures and social programmes.
Agnes Gabriela Medinaceli Baldivieso, INESAD – Bolivia
Agnes is Junior Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Development Studies (INESAD), Bolivia. She holds an MSc in Latin American Development from King’s College London, and a BSc in Economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Her change project “Casa Fuerte”– proposes a digital platform which will act as an intermediary between women offering their services as cleaning housemaids and potential clients, and is aimed at formalising domestic workers, offering them decent working conditions and higher wages.
Juan José Herrera, Grupo FARO – Ecuador
Juan José is Project Coordinator at Grupo FARO, Ecuador. He has an MSc in Social Studies in Energy Governance from FLACSO and a Diploma in Extractive Industries, Monitoring and Sustainable Development from the Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). His research interests include extractive industries, climate change, energy and sustainable development (particularly transparency and accountability related issues). He is currently coordinating the conformation of 5 Citizen Observatories to monitor the compliance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level in Ecuador.
Navam Niles, CEPA & Janathakshan GTE Ltd – Sri Lanka
Navam is a research consultant with Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA), Sri Lanka and Consultant at Janathakshan GTE Ltd. He has attained a PGDip in Laws from the University of London International Programmes, and a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has partnered with research professionals from CEPA and various other organisations to build an Adaptation Database and Preparation Tool (ADAPT), which seeks to study sustainable climate change adaptation in Sri Lanka.
Shahida Pervin, CPD – Bangladesh
Shahida is Research Associate at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Bangladesh. She has attained an MSS in Economics from Jagannath University, Dhaka and a BSS in Economics from the same institute. She is co-author to a study aimed at estimating women’s contribution to the economy of Bangladesh. The study, undertaken by CPD in partnership with the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), applied time use survey technique to understand time use patterns of 8,320 women and 5,334 men in 5,670 households across the 64 districts of Bangladesh.
Maam Suwadu Sakho-Jimbira, IPAR – Senegal
Suwadu is Programme Officer and Researcher at Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR), Senegal. She holds a PhD in Economics from University of Montpellier I, Master of Research in Economics from the same institute, and a BA in Economics from the University of Gaston Berger of Saint-Louis. Her change project is aimed at providing evidence on the impacts of an integrated food policy to achieve sustainable development for the benefits of small-scale farmers and urban consumers in Sub-Saharan Africa, who are susceptible to climate change impacts.
