In a recent blog of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation (Hewlett Foundation), the Southern Voice network has been recognised for demonstrating an exceptional ability to form strategic partnerships and for the brand strategy it employed for its flagship Data Initiative, Post-2015 Data Test: Unpacking the Data Revolution at the Country Level.

The author of the blog, Sarah Lucas of the Hewlett Foundation reckons that by “being smart about partnerships” and “considering signature work”, the network has been able to demonstrate influence at the conceptual level.

The blog points towards the global trend of think tanks to overlook the prospects of a conceptual approach to measuring impact, where research may influence the way policymakers and practitioners perceive problems and their solutions.
